Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions clinic providers and staff ask most about Lumirai Link.

Common questions from providers and staff.

General

Link is the clinic web hub for rooming patients and choosing which studies Viewer and Lightbox show. You open it in a browser at your clinic’s hostname. See Getting started.

No. Link sits beside them. You assign rooms and pick studies here. Opening a study launches Joints. Your clinic’s Joints and PACS remain the source of truth for imaging.

  • Link — the web hub (this app) for rooming and display control
  • Viewer (iPad and desktop) — watch rooms and review imaging on the device in the room
  • Lightbox — the display in the exam room

All three share the same Link server, so a patient you room here shows up on the Viewer and Lightbox in that room.

What browser should I use?

A current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. Viewer apps use the same Link server; they are not a substitute for this website.

Signing in

Do I need a Joints password?

No. You sign into Lumirai Link with the email IT issued. Opening studies may launch Joints in a new tab using the account your clinic configured.

Can I log in without my password?

Yes. Choose Log in without password, request a one-time password, and enter the code from your email. If you already have a code, choose I already have my OTP. See Logging in.

Your browser still has a valid session. Use Logout in the user menu when you leave a shared computer.

Rooms and studies

Why don’t I see any rooms?

You have not selected rooms to watch, or a schedule has not run yet. Open Select Rooms and turn on the rooms you need. See Selecting rooms.

How do I put a patient in a room?

Open Rooms and choose Room Patient, or Assign on a room. Search by name, Patient ID, or date of birth, then choose Assign to Room. See Rooming a patient.

How do I choose which studies appear on the display?

Open the room. Use the display icon on each study, or Display none to hide all of them. See Room detail.

Why would I include another patient?

When studies you need are under a second Patient ID. Include adds those studies without replacing the person in the room. See Multiple patients.

What does the yellow people icon mean?

Multiple Matches — Link found another possible ID, or you already included someone. Click it to include or uninclude.

How do I lock the screen in the exam room?

On a room that has a Lightbox, open the actions menu and choose Lock Screen. Green Locked means it took. Yellow Lock means it is still pending. See Locking Lightbox.

XR Orders

Why don’t I see Orders?

XR Orders appears only if your clinic uses it and your role includes it. If you do not have it, use Rooms as usual.

Shared computers

We share one computer at the nurses’ station — what should we do?

  1. Clear the room when the visit is over, or use Display none for a blank screen.
  2. Log out from the user menu.
  3. Close Joints tabs you opened from Link.
  4. Optionally turn on Auto-return to rooms list in Settings.

See Privacy and shared workstations.

Can I do this on an iPad?

Yes — Viewer on iPad, and Viewer on desktop, connect to the same Link server. Room and display changes you make here show up there, and the other way around.
