Getting started

What Lumirai Viewer does, what you need before you begin, and how to get through your first launch.

What Viewer does

Lumirai Viewer watches exam rooms from a Mac or Windows computer so you can:

  • Connect once to your clinic’s Lumirai Link and return without hunting for a browser tab
  • See which rooms are occupied and which are Vacant
  • Review Joints imaging for the patient in a room
  • Search PACS by patient name, ID, or date of birth
  • Assign a patient to a watched room, or open them in an extra Open Studies tab
  • Choose which studies appear, including extra records for the same visit
  • Lock the room’s Lumirai Lightbox when the room has one

Viewer does not replace Joints, PACS, or Lumirai Link. It sits beside them and puts the right studies in front of the right room.

This is the same Lumirai Link workflow you already use on Viewer for iPad. The desktop app adds a command bar, keyboard shortcuts, and up to four Open Studies tabs, where iPad allows two. There is no rotary scroll dial.

Before you begin

You will need:

  1. Lumirai Viewer installed on your Mac or Windows computer — from your clinic’s IT team or from Lumirai
  2. Your clinic’s Lumirai Link hostname, which IT can provide
  3. Your Lumirai Link staff login — email and password, or an emailed one-time code
  4. Network access to Link, Joints, and your clinic’s imaging systems

You do not sign into Joints yourself. After you log in to Link, Link supplies the Joints session Viewer uses to show studies.

First launch checklist

  1. Open Viewer.
  2. On the first-run screen, enter the Hostname, choose Use secure connection if IT asked you to, and choose Connect. See Connecting and logging in.
  3. On the logged-out screen, choose Login and sign in with Link.
  4. When the main window appears, turn on the rooms this computer should watch under Settings → Rooms. See Rooms.
  5. Click a room that has a patient, or search for someone and open or assign them. See Viewing studies and Search.
