Privacy and shared workstations

Treat the Link browser window like any other clinical system with patient information on screen.

Link is built for clinical imaging workflows. Patient names, IDs, dates of birth, sex, study descriptions, rooms, and orders are protected health information (PHI). Treat the browser window like any other clinical system on screen.

While you are signed in, this computer may show:

  • The rooms you watch and who is assigned
  • Studies, display choices, and included patients
  • Your personal History
  • XR Orders, if your clinic uses them

History is separated per Link account. Switching users does not mix one person’s History into another’s.

Shared workstation checklist

At a nurses’ station or any shared computer:

  1. Clear the room when the visit is over, or turn Display none on if you only need a blank screen.
  2. Log out from the user menu when you finish.
  3. Do not leave room detail up and walk away. If you often forget, turn on Auto-return to rooms list in User settings.
  4. Close Joints tabs you opened from Link.
The next person should see the login page — not your rooms or History.

Viewer and Lightbox

Viewer on iPad and desktop, and Lightbox, show the same rooms and studies. Lock the Lightbox when you leave the exam room — see Locking Lightbox. Log out of Viewer on a shared iPad the same way you log out of Link.
