Privacy and shared iPads

Protect patient information when more than one person uses the same iPad.

Viewer is built for clinical imaging workflows. Patient names, IDs, dates of birth, sex, study descriptions, rooms, and appointment details are protected health information (PHI). Treat the iPad screen like any other clinical system.

Shared iPads

If more than one person uses this iPad:

  1. Close Open Studies tabs when you finish a patient.
  2. Log out of Lumirai Link (Settings → Lumirai Link).
  3. If you see Clear saved login, use it so the next person must sign in.
  4. Don’t leave Search, History, or a room with a patient on screen when you walk away.

See Connecting and logging in.

Shared Joints account

Link may provision a Shared Medstrat Joints account — a clinic Joints login used by more than one Viewer, not your personal Joints user.

When the account is shared:

  • Settings → Medstrat Joints shows a Shared badge
  • Viewer blocks tapping inside Joints so a shared login can’t change images or settings in Joints
  • You can still pick studies, search, assign rooms, and draw in Viewer

If you need to interact with Joints itself, ask IT whether your Link user should have a dedicated Joints account.

What this iPad keeps

This iPad may keep:

  • The Lumirai Link hostname
  • A saved Link login so you can return without typing a password every time
  • History of patients you opened while signed in
Log out (or choose Clear saved login) when you hand the device off.

Privacy Policy

Settings → About Viewer → Privacy Policy opens Lumirai’s policy at lumir.ai/privacy.
