The locked screen

Between visits, the exam-room display is a signage screen and patient images stay hidden.

When Lightbox is locked, the exam-room display is a signage screen and patient images are hidden. This is the normal state between visits, and whenever a provider hasn’t unlocked.

What you see

  • A video playlist assigned to this room in Lumirai Link
  • If no playlist videos are ready yet, a bundled Lumirai screensaver
  • The status bar along the bottom

The lock icon is closed. Card status may flash briefly after a tap. The patient chip can still show initials and study counts so staff can confirm the right person is roomed, but the images stay covered.

Signage videos

Link assigns a playlist to the room. Lightbox downloads those videos to the kiosk, plays them in order, then loops.

While videos are downloading, the status bar may show a count, for example 2 / 5. IT can review the cache under Settings → Downloads. See Settings.

Who locks the screen

The display starts locked. It returns to this screensaver when any of these happen — see Locking the screen:

  • A provider taps Lock view
  • The auto-lock timer expires
  • Staff change the roomed patient
  • Someone locks the room remotely from Lumirai Link or Lumirai Viewer
  • A card is tapped while the display is already unlocked

How to leave the locked screen

  • Providers — tap your NFC card. See Unlocking.
  • Demo mode (IT and training only) — tap the lock icon. No card is required.
  • Remote — staff can unlock this room from Link or Viewer when clinic policy allows.
Tapping the lock icon while locked, with demo mode off, does not unlock. Lightbox shows Locked — Use a card to unlock.
