Locking the screen

Lock the display when you leave the room, and know the other ways it locks on its own.

Lock the display when you leave the room or finish reviewing. The signage screensaver covers Joints so the next person doesn’t see the previous visit.

Lock view (manual)

While unlocked, tap the lock icon (Lock view) on the status bar. You can also tap your NFC card — a card tap on an unlocked display locks it. Inking closes and is discarded, and the studies panel closes.

Auto-lock timer

After a card or remote unlock, Lightbox may start an idle timer taken from that user’s settings in Link. When the timer runs out, the screen locks on its own. If your clinic didn’t set a timeout for that user, the display stays unlocked until something else locks it.

Patient change

When staff room a different patient — or the roomed identity changes — Lightbox locks. Unlock again for the new visit. This keeps the previous patient’s images off the wall during turnover.

Remote lock

Staff can lock this room from Lumirai Link or Lumirai Viewer. The display returns to signage the same way as a manual lock. Remote unlock is covered in Unlocking.

After lock

  • Signage plays again. See The locked screen.
  • The clinician name leaves the status bar.
  • Pending inking is gone.
  • App updates that were waiting can apply while the screen is locked. See Settings.
