Providers unlock the room display with an NFC card. There is no staff login on the kiosk.
Providers unlock the room display with an NFC card. There is no staff login on Lightbox. After a successful unlock, Medstrat Joints shows the roomed patient’s displayed studies.
If the display isn’t connected to Link, a tap shows Not connected and the screen stays locked.
Tapping a card while the display is already unlocked locks it. Use that when you’re done, or tap Lock view.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Authenticating… | Card read; Lightbox is checking access |
| Access granted | Unlock succeeded, and your name stays on the bar |
| Access denied | This card isn’t allowed for this room |
| MFA required | Enter the one-time passcode next |
| Not connected | Link isn’t ready; tap again once it is |
| Error reading card - please try again | The reader could not finish the tap |
| Locked | The screen just locked, for example after a card tap while unlocked |
If your clinic requires a second step, the status bar shows MFA required and Lightbox opens One-Time Passcode.
The prompt reads Please enter the one-time passcode sent to your email.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| OTP does not match | Re-enter the code. Delete digits to try again. |
| OTP expired - present card for new OTP | Tap your card again to request a new code. |
| Card sync error - present card for new OTP | Tap your card again. |
Cancel closes the passcode prompt. The display stays locked until a card succeeds.
If IT turned on Demo mode, you can unlock without a card:
A persistent DEMO MODE notice stays on screen: Unlock allowed without authentication. Use demo mode only for setup or training, never in a live exam room.
If demo mode is off and no reader is attached, Lightbox shows NFC reader not found — Card unlock is unavailable until a reader is connected.
Staff can unlock this room from Lumirai Link or Lumirai Viewer. The display behaves like a successful card unlock for that user, including their auto-lock timer.
