The main screen
A quick tour of the sidebar, the study viewer, and the toolbar.
After you connect and sign in, Viewer has a sidebar on the left and the study viewer on the right.
Sidebar
The sidebar lists:
- The rooms you selected in Settings
- Open Studies — up to two extra viewers that are not tied to a room
Tap a card to bring that room or study forward. Swipe a room left for New Viewer, or right for Refresh. See Rooms and Open Studies.
At the top of the sidebar:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search (magnifying glass) | Find a patient and assign them to a room |
| History (clock) | Patients you opened earlier |
At the bottom:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Connection status | Tap to log in if needed, or to open Settings |
| Settings (gear) | Link, login, rooms, scheduling, and About |
If you have not chosen any rooms yet, the sidebar shows No Rooms Selected and Open Settings.
Viewer
The right side shows Medstrat Joints for the selected room or Open Studies tab. When nothing is ready to display, you’ll see one of these instead:
- Joints Account Required
- Vacant Room
- No Studies
- No Studies Selected

Viewer toolbar
When a room or Open Studies tab is selected (and you are not in Search or History):
| Control | What it does |

| Draw | Pencil overlay on the images |
| Studies | Choose which studies to show |
| Refresh Study List | Ask Link for an updated study list |
| Reload Viewer | Reload the Joints viewer |
| Hide Viewer | Clear the selection and show the sidebar |
| Open in New Viewer | Copy this room’s patient into Open Studies (rooms only) |
| Close Viewer | Close this Open Studies tab (Open Studies only) |
| Lock / Unlock Lightbox | Lock or unlock the exam-room display (Lightbox rooms) |
Draw, Studies, and the overflow items live in the toolbar at the top of the viewer.
Search and History overlays
Search and History cover the viewer until you close them (X) or tap a room. You can’t have both open at once. See Patient search and History.
