Watch exam rooms, assign patients, and include extra studies for the same visit.
Rooms are the heart of Viewer. You choose which exam rooms this computer watches, then click a room to see that patient’s studies.
The sidebar lists only the rooms you turned on. If none are selected, it asks you to pick at least one and offers Open Settings. Room lists come from Lumirai Link, so if the list is empty, wait for Link to finish loading or ask IT whether rooms are set up on this server.
Each card in Rooms includes:
A two-person badge means Link found more than one PACS record for this patient, or extra studies are already included. Click it to review matches.
Click a card to select it. The main pane shows that room’s viewer. Occupied rooms keep their viewer ready in the background, so switching is usually instant.
If Collapse on select is on — from the status bar or Settings → Rooms — the sidebar hides when you pick a room or patient tab that has a patient. Vacant rooms leave the sidebar open so you can assign someone. Unlike Viewer on iPad, the desktop sidebar does not hide itself unless you turn that option on, and there is no rotary scroll dial.
Patients usually arrive from your clinic’s rooming workflow. You can also assign from Viewer:
The room becomes occupied and that viewer comes forward. Only rooms this computer is watching appear in the menu. Turn on more rooms under Settings → Rooms.
Sometimes a visit has studies under a second medical record — a maiden name, a prior ID, or a related record Link already matched.
If the birth dates differ, Viewer asks you to confirm. A different date of birth usually means a different person. Included patients appear as chips in the Studies panel — choose X on a chip to remove that record from the room.
A vacant room shows Vacant on the card and Vacant Room in the viewer:
Assign a patient to this room to display their images.
Assign someone from Search or History, or wait for your clinic’s rooming system to place the next patient.
Clinic leads can have Viewer turn rooms on and off on a clock. See Room Scheduling in Settings.
