Lightbox lock

Lock or unlock a room’s Lumirai Lightbox so the exam-room display stays on the current patient.

If an exam room has a Lumirai Lightbox, Viewer can lock or unlock that display — so the room screen stays on the current patient, or so staff can use it again.

Where the control is

Lock Lightbox appears:

  • On the room card in the sidebar
  • On the viewer strip when that room is selected

It appears only when the room has a Lightbox. Vacant rooms and Open Studies tabs do not show a lock. This is the same lock as Viewer on iPad, and it talks to the Lumirai Lightbox in that room.

Lock or unlock

  1. Select the room, or use the compact lock on the room card.
  2. Choose Lock Lightbox to lock, or Unlock Lightbox to unlock.

While Link is applying the change, the control shows Lightbox lock pending and you cannot press it again. After a few seconds it settles on locked or unlocked.

When to use it

Typical clinic use:

  • Lock after the correct studies are on screen, so the Lightbox is not driven from another station mid-visit
  • Unlock when the visit is over, or a colleague needs the display

Locking the Lightbox does not close Viewer or sign you out. It only affects that room’s Lightbox.

Tips

  • If you never see a lock on a room that should have a Lightbox, ask IT whether that room is tied to a Lightbox in Lumirai Link.
  • A pending lock that never clears usually means Link or the Lightbox could not finish the request. Try again, or check the Lightbox in the room.
  • Treat the locked screen as PHI — the images stay up until someone unlocks it, or the next patient is assigned.
