The main window

A quick tour of where everything lives in the Viewer window on Mac and Windows.

After you sign in, Viewer’s main window has a few fixed areas. Knowing where things live makes the rest of this guide easier to follow.

Title bar

At the top you will see Search or jump to…. Click it, or press ⌘ P / Ctrl P, to open the command bar — the fastest way to search for a patient or jump to Studies, Search, History, or Settings. ⌘ Shift P / Ctrl Shift P opens the command bar already set for a last-name, first-name search.

SectionWhat it shows
RoomsExam rooms this computer is watching
Open StudiesExtra patient tabs you opened from Search or History, up to four

Click a room or patient card to bring that viewer forward. Open Studies appears only while at least one extra patient tab is open. See Rooms and Open Studies.

You can hide or show the sidebar with the sidebar toggle, and drag the divider to resize it. If no rooms are selected yet, the sidebar asks you to pick rooms in Settings.

Toolbar

Just below the title bar, over the main column:

ControlWhat it does
SearchSearch PACS by name, patient ID, or date of birth
HistoryPatients you opened recently
SettingsLink, rooms, schedules, Joints, and About

When the sidebar is collapsed, the toolbar also shows the sidebar toggle and the current room name.

You can also use ⌘ S / Ctrl S for Search, ⌘ Y / Ctrl Y for History, and ⌘ , / Ctrl , for Settings. Studies lives on the viewer strip (⌘ L / Ctrl L), not in this toolbar.

Viewer strip

When a room or Open Studies tab is selected, a strip above the images shows the patient — or Room if the room is vacant — the visit details, and the study count. 2 / 5 means two studies are on screen out of five available. On the right of the strip:

Main content area

This is where the study viewer, Studies panel, Search, History, or Settings appears. Empty covers you may see:

  • Joints Account Required — Link has not supplied a Joints account
  • Vacant Room — no patient in this room
  • No Studies — PACS has not returned studies yet
  • No Studies Selected — studies exist, but none are checked on

A yellow Shared Joints account banner means the Joints login is not your Lumirai username. Studies can display, but input is blocked. See Viewing studies.

Status bar

At the bottom of the window:

  • Left — the connection chip: Connected, Connecting…, Reconnecting…, Connection failed, or Logged out
  • Collapse on select — hide the sidebar when you pick a room or patient tab that has a patient. Vacant rooms stay open. You can also set this under Settings → Rooms.
  • Right — your Lumirai username and Log out
