Viewing studies

The study viewer, the empty covers you may see, the shared Joints banner, and display size.

When a room has a patient — or you open someone in Open Studies — Viewer loads their Joints images in the main pane.

The viewer strip

Above the images:

  • Patient name, or Room if the room is vacant
  • Age, sex, and appointment when Link has them
  • Study count — how many studies are on screen out of how many are available
  • A calendar mark when a study is from today
  • Laterality and body part
  • Matches badge, when extra PACS records are available

On the right: Lock Lightbox on rooms that have a Lightbox, Studies, Reload viewer, and Close viewer on Open Studies tabs only. ⌘ L / Ctrl L opens Studies, and ⌘ W / Ctrl W closes the selected Open Studies tab — it does not close a watched room.

Empty covers

If images cannot load yet, Viewer shows a cover instead of Joints:

CoverWhat it meansWhat to do
Joints Account RequiredLink has not supplied a Joints accountSign in again. If it persists, ask IT to enable Joints.
Vacant RoomNo patient in this roomAssign a patient, or wait for rooming.
No StudiesPACS has not returned studies for this patientWait, or refresh from the Studies panel.
No Studies SelectedStudies exist, but none are checked onOpen Studies and select at least one.

Shared Joints account

If the Joints login Link supplied is not your Lumirai username, a yellow banner appears:

Shared Joints account — this Medstrat login is not your Lumirai username. Studies can display, but input is blocked.

You can still see images. You cannot click, scroll, or drive Joints under someone else’s name. Settings → Medstrat Joints shows a Shared badge on that account. This is expected on some clinic setups — ask IT if you should have your own Joints account.

Reload and load errors

Reload viewer — the refresh icon on the strip — reloads the Joints page without changing which studies are selected.

If a study URL fails, Viewer shows This study couldn’t load along with You’re still signed in. Choose Retry — you do not need to log in again.

How large the images look

Under Settings → Medstrat Joints → Study viewer:

  • Better Layout — more fits on screen, at 80%
  • Bigger Text — larger text, at 100%

This scales the Joints study page inside Viewer. It is a desktop control — Viewer on iPad does not use these labels.

Tips

  • Treat everything on screen as patient information (PHI). On a shared computer, log out when you step away.
  • Closing the last Open Studies tab leaves your rooms in place.
  • To change which studies load, use the Studies panel rather than looking for a worklist inside Joints. Viewer shows the studies you select for the room, so there is no Study List toolbar.
