Common questions from providers and staff.
Echo is a desktop app that works with Medstrat Joints. You sign into Joints inside Echo, open studies in tabs, search for patients, and — with Pro — use History and Tab Sync.
See Getting started.
Yes. Echo supports macOS and Windows.
No. Echo embeds Joints and opens study viewers from your existing systems.
No. You sign in with your Medstrat Joints account. Echo Pro licensing is tied to that email by your organization; you don’t create a second clinical password inside Echo.
If enabled, echo restores a valid Joints session when it can. You’ll see a short verification checklist, then the main window. See Logging in.
Use Search, select the patient, check several studies, and choose Open selected. You can also adjust which studies are loaded from the viewer’s Studies panel.
See Opening studies.
Echo Free allows one open view at a time. Staff and Provider plans allow unlimited open views. Ask your clinic admin about upgrading, or see Plans and accounts.
That’s the command bar. Press ⌘ P / Ctrl P to open it. Type to jump to Search, History, or Settings, search by name, or (on Pro) reopen someone from History.
Press ⌘ Shift P / Ctrl Shift P, type Last name, First name, and press Enter.
| Free | Pro (Staff / Provider) | |
|---|---|---|
| Open views | 1 at a time | Unlimited |
| History | Not saved | Up to 90 days |
| Tab Sync | No | Yes |
| Own/share sync folder | No | Provider only |
History requires Echo Pro. On Free you’ll see an explanation instead of a list.
If you are a Provider:
The assistant (Staff or Provider) adds the list under Shared with you or Add shared list by link. Full steps: Tab Sync.
Microsoft requires organization (tenant) admin consent the first time Echo needs Files access in your Microsoft 365 tenant. See Microsoft 365 admin consent.
No. Tab Sync needs a work Microsoft 365 account covered by your organization’s BAA. Personal accounts are not supported.
No. The Provider must share the list with that person’s email. The link only helps them add the list quickly afterward.
Echo downloads updates in the background and applies them when you quit, so an open reading session is not interrupted. Settings → About shows update status.
Start at the User Guide home.
