Microsoft 365 admin consent for Tab Sync
First-time Tab Sync approval for IT / admins.
This page is for clinic IT or Microsoft 365 administrators. Clinicians only need to know that a one-time organization approval may be required before Tab Sync works.
Why this appears
Tab Sync stores shared open-view data in the user's OneDrive (folder Lumirai Echo Sync). Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) requires a tenant administrator to grant consent the first time an app needs that Files access for the organization.
Until consent is granted, users may be able to start Log in with Microsoft but cannot finish setting up Tab Sync.
What users should do
- In Echo: Settings → Tab Sync → Enable Tab Sync.
- Choose Log in with Microsoft with a work account.
- If Echo shows that admin approval is required, choose Request admin consent (when available) and notify IT.
- After IT approves, the user returns to Echo and signs in with Microsoft again, then selects a sync list.
Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported.
What admins should do
Exact Entra screens change over time; the goal is:
- Review the admin consent request for Lumirai Echo (Files / OneDrive permissions needed for Tab Sync).
- Grant consent for the organization (tenant), not only for a single user, if that matches clinic policy.
- Confirm users can complete Log in with Microsoft in Echo afterward without a consent error.
If your organization uses application allow lists or Conditional Access, ensure Echo’s Microsoft sign-in flow is permitted for the clinical users who need Tab Sync.
After approval
- Providers enable Tab Sync, sign in, and use Your list (and optionally Share my list).
- Staff sign in and join a shared list under Shared with you or via Add shared list by link.

Privacy note for IT
Tab Sync day files can contain PHI (patient identifiers, study URLs, room, notes). They live in the tenant’s OneDrive under your Microsoft 365 BAA. Echo does not support consumer Microsoft accounts for this feature.
