Connecting to Link

The connection chip on the status bar shows how the kiosk is talking to Lumirai Link, and what to do when it is not.

Lightbox talks to Lumirai Link in the background. The connection chip on the right of the status bar shows how that’s going. You don’t sign in as yourself — the kiosk uses the display account from Settings.

What you should see

After IT saves complete settings, the chip settles on Connected and authenticated. The room name — or the room name override, if your clinic set one — appears next to it.

Connection statuses

StatusMeaning
Not configuredHostname, username, password, Location ID, or Room ID is missing
ConnectingReaching Lumirai Link
Connected, signing inLink is up, and the display account is signing in
Connected and authenticatedSigned in and ready
ReconnectingThe link dropped, and Lightbox is retrying
Connection failedCould not reach Link
Connected, authentication failedReached Link, but the display username or password was rejected

When settings are incomplete, Lightbox also shows Settings incomplete — Set up this display to connect. IT should open Settings and fill the required fields.

Room statuses

These appear after the kiosk is connected and authenticated:

StatusMeaning
Room not foundNo room matches this Location ID and Room ID. On screen: No room matches this location and room ID.
Not a Lightbox roomThe room exists but isn’t set up as a Lightbox display. On screen: This room exists but is not set up for Lightbox display.

These notices stay on screen until the IDs are corrected. Confirm them in Settings against the room in Lumirai Link. Staff can’t fix this from Viewer during a visit.

Reconnecting

If Link drops, the chip shows Reconnecting with a retry count. Lightbox posts Lumirai Link disconnected — Trying to reconnect… and updates the retry number as it goes.

When the connection returns, you see Lumirai Link reconnected — Connection restored. You don’t need to restart the app for a brief drop.

Viewer loading

A small ring on the connection chip tracks the Joints viewer:

  • Busy ring — Viewer loading
  • Steady ring — Viewer ready

A download arrow on that chip means signage videos are still caching in the background.
