Getting started

What Echo is, and what you need before you begin.

What Echo does

Echo wraps Medstrat Joints in a focused iPad app so you can:

  • Sign in once and return to your worklist without hunting for a browser tab
  • Open imaging studies in Open views instead of separate browser windows
  • Search PACS by patient name, ID, or date of birth
  • Open several studies for the same patient in one viewer
  • (Pro) Reopen recent patients from History
  • (Pro) Keep the same open views in sync across your iPad and computer with Tab Sync

Echo does not replace your PACS or Joints. It sits beside them and makes everyday review faster.

Before you begin

You will need:

  1. Echo installed on your iPad (from the App Store or your clinic’s IT team)
  2. Your Medstrat Joints username and password (the same ones you use in a browser)
  3. Network access to Joints and your clinic’s imaging systems
  4. Optional — an Echo Pro license if you need History, unlimited open views, or Tab Sync

If your clinic uses Tab Sync, you will also need a work Microsoft 365 account from your organization. Personal Microsoft accounts (for example outlook.com) are not supported.

First launch checklist

  1. Open Echo.
  2. If you see Logged out, choose Login and sign in with Joints. See Logging in.
  3. When the main screen appears, try opening one study from the Study List. See Opening studies.
  4. If your clinic uses Tab Sync, turn it on under Settings → Tab Sync. See Tab Sync.
