Echo Accounts

Giving people a license by email address.

Buying licenses does not give anyone access. This page is where you hand them out, one email address at a time.

Add Echo accounts to start using Provider and Staff access. Use the same email addresses used to log into Medstrat Joints — Echo uses that email to grant license entitlement when a user signs into Joints through Echo.

That sentence is the whole rule: the email must match the one that person uses in Joints. If it does not, their Echo stays on the free tier and nothing on this page will look wrong.

Add someone

  1. Open Echo Accounts.
  2. Enter their Email.
  3. Choose the Type — Provider or Staff.
  4. Choose Add account.

A confirmation appears and they are added to the table. Access takes effect the next time Echo checks their license, which is at sign-in; ask them to quit and reopen Echo if they are already in it.

Pick the type that matches what they do, not their seniority. Provider adds rotary scroll, drawing controls, and the ability to own and share a Tab Sync list. See Subscription.

Reading the page

Two counters sit above the table:

  • Provider licenses used — for example 2/3, meaning two of three purchased
  • Staff licenses used

The table lists Email, Type, and Added, with a red bin icon to remove a row.

Remove someone

Choose the bin icon on their row. The license is freed immediately and can be reassigned to someone else straight away.

Do this the moment someone leaves the practice. Removing them here does not touch their Medstrat Joints login — that is your PACS administrator's job, and it is the one that matters for patient data.

Disabled accounts

If the number of accounts ever exceeds the number of licenses — usually because licenses were reduced — the excess rows are struck through and marked Disabled, and an orange banner appears:

Accounts over license limit N Echo accounts are disabled because the number of accounts exceeds the current licenses. Add licenses or remove accounts to re-enable access.

The most recently added accounts are the ones disabled. To choose differently, remove the people you actually meant to drop; the remaining accounts re-enable on their own.

Common problems

Someone still sees Echo Free. In order: check the email here is character-for-character the one they use in Joints; check they are not on a Disabled row; check the subscription status is Trialing or Active on Status; then have them sign out of Echo and back in.
