Lightbox lock

Lock or unlock the exam-room display from this iPad.

If an exam room has a Lightbox display, you can lock or unlock it from this iPad so the images on the wall stay put — or so they can update again.

Lock controls appear only on rooms that have a Lightbox. Open Studies tabs never show them.

How to tell a room has a Lightbox

The room card shows a lock icon:

  • Locked — a closed lock
  • Unlocked — an open lock
  • Pending — a spinner while Link applies the change

The viewer header shows the same lock state when the sidebar is hidden.

Lock or unlock

  1. Select the Lightbox room.
  2. In the toolbar, choose Lock Lightbox or Unlock Lightbox.

The buttons are disabled while a lock or unlock is already in progress (the spinner on the room card). Wait for the icon to settle, then try again if you still need to change it.

Locking keeps the Lightbox from following live room changes until someone unlocks it. Unlocking lets the display update with the room again.

If lock stays pending

A pending spinner means Viewer already asked Link to lock or unlock, and the Lightbox has not finished. Don’t tap repeatedly.

  1. Wait a few seconds.
  2. Confirm the Lightbox in the room is on and on the network.
  3. If the spinner never clears, ask IT to check that room’s Lightbox.
