Drawing and scroll dial

Mark up images for discussion, and scroll through a series with the rotary dial.

Two iPad tools sit on top of the Joints images: Draw for markup, and the scroll dial for moving through a series.

Draw

  1. Select a room or Open Studies tab that is showing images.
  2. In the toolbar, choose Draw (the pencil).
  3. Mark up the images with Apple Pencil or your finger. The system tool picker lets you change pen, color, and eraser.
  4. Choose Draw again to hide the overlay.

Drawings are a conversation overlay on this iPad. They are not saved to PACS and they do not change the study. Switching rooms or tabs clears the drawing.

Use Draw when you are talking through a finding with a colleague or a patient. Don’t rely on it as part of the medical record.

Scroll dial

The scroll dial is an iPad control for scrolling images in Joints. It is not on Viewer desktop.

  • Collapsed, it is a teal circle. Drag it out of the way if it covers anatomy.
  • Tap the circle to expand it into a rotary dial.
  • Rotate the outer ring to scroll the series.
  • Drag or tap the center to collapse the dial again.

If the images don’t move, make sure Joints is actually showing a series (not an empty state) and try Reload Viewer.
