Verifying your email

The one step that unlocks subscribing.

Until your email address is confirmed, a yellow banner sits at the top of every page in the portal:

Verify your email address Confirm your email address to start or change a subscription.

Everything else works while it is showing. Only subscription changes are blocked, and the Subscribe and Modify licenses buttons are greyed out with the tooltip "Verify your email address first — see the banner above."

Verify

  1. Choose Send verification email in the banner.
  2. The banner changes to confirm where the link went.
  3. Open the email and follow the link.
  4. The Email verified page confirms it: "Thanks — your email address is confirmed. You can now manage your subscription."
  5. Choose Continue to return to the portal. The banner is gone.

Some of the other links Lumirai emails you — an emailed login code, an account activation link, or a password reset — also confirm the address on their own. If the banner has already disappeared by the time you look for it, that is why.

Why it is required

Billing email, receipts, and security notices all go to this address, and Lumirai's payment provider uses it to look up your orders. An unconfirmed address means a subscription nobody can be reached about.

Troubles

  • No email. Check junk mail, then confirm the address on the Settings page is spelled correctly. A verification email can only be sent a few times an hour.
  • "We couldn't verify that link." The link has expired or has already been used. Sign in and use Send verification email again for a fresh one.
  • You changed your email. Changing the address on your profile un-verifies the account and sends a new link to the new address. Until you follow it, the banner returns and subscription changes are blocked again. See Account settings.
