Rotary scroll and drawing

Touch scrolling and annotation on a study.

When a study is open, Echo can show a rotary dial for scrolling and a drawing overlay for markup. These controls are iPad-only. They are not saved to PACS.

Rotary dial

The rotary dial appears over the viewer so you can scroll a series with one finger. Rotary is available on Free and Pro Provider. It is not available on Pro Staff.

Drawing

  • Hover a card and click X, or
  • Right-click a card and choose Close view, or
  • With that view selected, press ⌘ W / Ctrl W (Close Viewer)

Choose Draw in the viewer toolbar to open the PencilKit overlay. You can mark up the current image with Apple Pencil or your finger. Drawing is available on Free and Pro Provider, not Pro Staff.

What is not saved

Drawings stay on this device and this open view. They are not written to PACS, not included in Tab Sync, and they go away when you close the view.

  1. Right-click the view (or use Add details / Edit details in the viewer toolbar).
  2. Enter Room and/or Note.
  3. Choose Save.

If rotary or Draw is missing, check Settings → Echo Plans. Staff licenses do not include these tools. See Plans and accounts.

  • Drag the vertical divider to widen or narrow Open views.
  • Use the sidebar toggle to hide or show the list. Unlike the iPad app, the desktop sidebar does not hide itself automatically when a study opens — you choose when to collapse it.
