Open views

Cards, room and note, Hide Viewer, and closing views.

Every study you open becomes an Open view — a card you can switch to without reloading from scratch. Open views live in the sidebar.

Switch between views

Tap a card in Open views to bring that study forward. Echo keeps viewers ready in the background so switching is usually instant.

Close a view

  • Swipe a card left or right and choose Close, or
  • Swipe a card and choose Edit Details, or
  • Use Close All in the Open Views bar. If you are on a shared Tab Sync list, Echo warns that Close All closes views on every device.⌘ W / Ctrl W (Close Viewer)

To close everything, use the X in the Open views header or right-click and choose Close all views.

Patient details (room and note)

You can attach a short Room and Note to a view — useful when staging studies for a reading room or handing off to a colleague on Tab Sync.

  1. Right-click the view (or use Add details / Edit details in the viewer toolbar).
  2. Enter Room and/or Note.
  3. Choose Save.

Notes and rooms are patient-related information. If Tab Sync is on, they sync with your shared list so teammates see the same details.

  • Drag the vertical divider to widen or narrow Open views.
  • Use the sidebar toggle to hide or show the list. Unlike the iPad app, the desktop sidebar does not hide itself automatically when a study opens — you choose when to collapse it.
