The main screen

A quick tour of the iPad split view and compact layout.

After you sign in, Echo’s main screen has a few fixed areas. Knowing where things live makes the rest of this guide easier to follow.

Sidebar

On iPad (regular width), the leading column is the sidebar. At the top is Study List — the Joints worklist, which stays available and is not an open view. Open-view cards appear below it. When you are on someone else’s Tab Sync list, a footnote says Syncing {name}'s list.

Search, History, and Settings

In the sidebar toolbar:

ControlWhat it does
Study ListShows the Medstrat Joints worklist
SearchSearch PACS by name, patient ID, or date of birth
HistoryViews you opened recently (Pro)
SettingsAccount, Tab Sync, and About

Search (magnifying glass) opens Patient Search in the detail column. History (clock) opens History. Settings (gear) is at the bottom of the sidebar. There is no command bar and no keyboard shortcuts on iPad.

Open views sidebar

Open views lists every study viewer you currently have open. Tap a card to switch. Swipe a card to Edit Details or Close. See Open views.

Selecting an open view collapses the sidebar so the viewer fills the screen. Choose Hide Viewer in the viewer toolbar to show both columns again.

Main content area

The detail column shows the Study List, Patient Search, History, Settings, or an open study viewer. On iPhone or a narrow iPad Split View, Echo uses a compact layout: Patient Search is the home screen, and Study List, History, Settings, and Open Views open from the More menu and Open Views button.

Status and compact layout

At the bottom of the sidebar (or the Open Views bar on a compact layout):

  • Left (Pro with Tab Sync): sync status such as Synced 2:32 PM, plus Sync now when a list is active
  • Right: your plan (Echo Free or Echo Pro) and your Joints username — click either to open Account settings
